The December 15th Launch: Getting Your Property Database-Ready
The official timetable for the central government's Private Rented Sector (PRS) Database—officially titled the "Register Your Rental Property Service"—has been confirmed. Registration formally opens on December 15th, 2026, kicking off a regional rollout across England.
For landlords across Hunmanby, Filey, and North Yorkshire, this marks the transition to mandatory digital registration.
What Landlords Need to Know
The £65 Fee Structure: Landlords will pay a £65 annual fee per registered property. Landlord registration itself is free, but each dwelling must be individually registered and renewed yearly.
Non-Delegable Landlord Sign-Up: While letting agents manage property compliance, landlords must complete the initial sign-up to obtain their unique Landlord Registration Number.
Data Requirements: Entries will track address reference numbers (UPRNs), ownership structures, gas and electrical compliance safety certificates, and active EPC ratings.
Strict Enforcement: Councils can issue civil penalties starting at £7,000 for un-registered properties marketed to let, rising up to £40,000 for false submissions.
How C&E Prepares Your Portfolio
At C&E Property Services, we are organizing all compliance documentation, certificate dates, and property data into clean digital folders for our managed clients. When your regional registration window opens, your compliance records will be structured and ready for single-click uploading.
